RESEARCH-RICH SPIE WILL DRAW ACCUMOLD BACK TO SAN DIEGO IN AUGUST
The SPIE Optics + Photonics 2017 conference and exposition, which is the largest multidisciplinary optical sciences meeting in North America, will fill the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif., for five days beginning Aug 6. As it has in years past, Accumold’s marketing team will be there.
The SPIE gathering consistently attracts 20,000 attendees and 1,250 exhibiting companies as experts from the biomedical optics, biophotonics, translational research, industrial lasers, optoelectronics, microfabrication, 3D printing, MOEMS-MEMS, optical communications and other fields discuss the latest developments in various fields. As the leading laser, photonics, and biomedical optics conference, it has been an annual stop on the Accumold travel schedule for years.
“Any time someone gets 20,000 high-tech professionals in the same place at the same time, Accumold is guaranteed to be there. Those folks will be there to look, listen, learn and share their story. That’s just what we’re going to do, too,” said Aaron Johnson, Accumold’s Vice President of Marketing and Customer Strategy.
SPIE Optics + Photonics 2017 will include 14 world-class plenary sessions and
four conferences – nanoscience, nanoengineering and quantum science; optics and photonics for sustainable energy; organic photonics and electronics; optical engineering and applications – featuring 3,200 technical presentations.
“The annual SPIE meeting is often where the latest research in optical engineering and applications, nanotechnology, sustainable energy, organic photonics, and astronomical instrumentation is presented and begins to makes its move from theory to reality and then to the marketplace. Accumold has the technological know-how to help bridge that gap and that’s just one reason we look forward to the SPIE conference year in and year out,” Johnson said.
Since its inception in 1985, Ankeny, Iowa-based Accumold’s mission has been to produce super-micro, ultra-precision, plastic injection-molded parts. Parts manufactured by the firm are critical components of the medical, automotive, military, aerospace and telecommunications industries. They can be found in micro-electronics, cell phones, telecommunications, surgical tools, hearing aids, medical devices, antennas, connectors and more. To produce those parts, Accumold builds specialized molding machines engineered to handle volumes from prototypes to millions per year while maintaining consistent, precise tolerances that are unique in the industry.
