No one wants to produce millions of components without knowing if they will meet their project specifications. For this reason, we often work with our customers to first produce a prototype mold. This process can be beneficial in proving out the viability and robustness of a given design while also providing insights for the full-scale production mold.
Because our customers come to us for their challenging, tight-tolerance projects, we use the same molding technology that we build our production tooling from. We are often asked if we use 3D printers or other rapid processes, but due to the resolution shortfall, this often isn’t an option for our customers.
Customers of Accumold get the same quality of a final production part at the beginning of the process. This can be a very important part of the process since many of the projects that we prototype are considered “critical components” in their research and development phase.
